Unlike this Dutch couple who apparently paid Rs 10,000 for 4 samosas they bought from a hawker.
Thankfully, they later realised their folly, approached the police, and recovered Rs9900 back from the the guy.
Have you over-paid for anything while travelling and later felt a little foolish? Share with your comments.

When I first landed in the US of A .. unsure and naive.. (and yet foolish enough not to have asked others for advice beforehand), I paid $400 for a 15 minute cab ride from the Airport to my hotel. Later found out that it should’ve been $30!! Went to the police, but since I had also been stupid enough not to take down the cab number, they could’nt do anything for me

That’s around $250. That’s stupid. The police after having recovered that money should have donated it to the stupid academy.

Shows that this kind of thing can happen anywhere, even in the US, where by and large you expect things to be standardised.

I would say, catch hold of this couple and GypsyFeet is off to a flying start
