DARJEELING

Spread over a steep mountain ridge, surrounded by green tea plantations and towered over by the majestic Khangchendzonga , Darjeeling is truly the “Queen of the Hills.” Darjeeling is a wonderful retreat for those seeking to be in harmony with nature. One the most breathtaking views to witness here is the sun rise over the Himalayas at Tiger Hill, the highest point in the region.

This quaint little town is famous for its colonial-era architecture, Buddhist monasteries, vibrant mix of cultures and the “Toy Train” which is part of the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

A trip to Darjeeling can be combined with Sikkim for a 7-8 days trip. Nearest airport:  Bagdogra, connected by flight to major cities in India, and 4-5 hrs drive through tea estates to Darjeeling.
