Mawlynnong

Mawlynnong is a picturesque village in the East Khasi Hills district, located in the foothills along the Indo- Bangladesh border. Known for its cleanliness, it has been dubbed “Asia’s cleanest village”. Mawlynnong is a community based Eco-tourism initiative where the entire community has made collective effort to maintain the ambience of a clean village.

Truly a unique experience, a visit to Mawlynnong is not complete without a trek to the living root-bridge at Riwai, a neighboring village and getting a bird’s eye view of village and the Bangladesh plains from a sky walk, built from bamboo and cane.
