Shillong

Shillong is the capital of Meghalaya and is often referred to as the ‘Scotland of the East’ because of its striking similarity with the Scottish Highlands. It is one of the most enigmatic hill-stations of India, blessed with lush green forests, sacred groves, unexplored country sides and astounding caves and waterfalls.

Shillong still retains some its colonial-era charm that is quite visible in the architecture and cultural habits of the townsfolk. The residents’ share a great love and passion for music, hence, Shillong is also often called “India’s Rock Capital.” Apart from their love for music, the localites are avid fans of Football and not a single weekend passes by when you don’t witness youngsters playing this sport.
